What changed

V2 to V3

Engines

Raptor 3

About 22% more thrust than Raptor 2, with plumbing moved inside the engine so it no longer needs a separate heat shield. Simpler to build and lighter.

Booster

Three bigger grid fins

One fewer fin than V2, each 50% larger and stronger, with hardware built for tower catches. A new propellant transfer tube supports faster loading and engine start.

Mission

Built to deliver

More propellant and payload capacity: 100+ tonnes to low Earth orbit reusable, Starlink V3 deployment, and docking adapters for orbital refueling.
